Memphis, AR
I got to Memphis (Arkansas) in the afternoon but weather was not cooperating for any visit to Graceland so I went out for a late lunch / early dinner and hung out in the campground. No pictures.
Montgomery, AL
Next stop – Montgomery, Alabama. The KOA looked so familiar – I had stayed here in 2024 on my way home from Colorado.
I went out to dinner and had a smoked Old Fashioned prepared in a way I had not sen before – quire good.
Perry, FL
And the on to Perry, Florida. I had stayed in Perry two years earlier waiting for the all clear after hurricane Milton. Perry is a good last stop as it’s three easy hours from home, clean KOA, and with hookups I can flush the tanks well before getting.home.
Another reason I like Perry is the proximity to Steinhatchee – a small coastal town that offers good Florida gulf seafood.
I returned to the Crab Shack I had visited two years ago for a nice grouper dinner.
Then, unbelievably, on my drive back to camp I got a flat tire. This is 6PM in the middle of nowhere Florida. Two extremely kind gentleman basically changed the tire for me. The next day I’m at Walmart at 7AM hoping for a simple plug and patch. Turns out tire is not repairable. It was not a puncture wound but more like a slice.
So now, 7AM Sunday, I’m looking for an unusually large truck tire. After five hours I was able to locate a used one. Good enough to get me home.
Home Sweet Home
I got home around 3PM Sunday.
