Fremont Lake

Fremont Lake Campground is a National Forest Campground in the Bridger-Teton National Forest. It is primitive camping on reserved sites – no water, no electricity, no sewer. There are pit toilets scattered in the campground but no showers. The closest town, about 6 miles away, is Pinedale, WY.

Fremont Lake is Wyoming’s 2nd largest natural lake and the country’s 7th deepest at over 600 feet.

I had great internet connectivity with clear skies for starlink and I had great solar charging while at Fremont Lake. Mostly I caught up on what little work I do these days. But I also got in one hike to the “sacred rim”.

The Sacred Rim Trail

All trails describes the Sacred Rim Trail “leads hikers out to one of the best viewpoints in the country”. It does lead to an epic viewpoint but it hard to get the scale of the viewpoint in a photograph. The trail is in the Bridger Wilderness.

After the hike I went out to dinner at Wind River Brewing (a nice stout for desert) and then was treated to a great sunset on my last night at Fremont Campground.

The next day I moved further south to Laramie.
