Definitely heading east and home. Amarillo was a good stop to see a bit of historic Route 66 and also Palo Duro Canyon State Park. As it turned out the weather got a bit gloomy so I never did see Palo Duro Canyon.
Amarillo’s Route 66
Honestly I expected more. This was a short stretch of SW 6th Ave and kind a seedy in my opinion.
I did have lunch on SW 6th at the Moonwater Cafe – it was excellent.
Cadillac Ranch
10 Cadillacs, old Cabillacs, buried at about 45 degree angle. You bring spray paint (or you can buy it on site) and paint to your heart’s delight.
There is at least an inch thick coat of paint on each of these.
